Faith is about seeing past the present.
The problem is that we see what we have seen, build a wall, and start running around inside of it. We listen to everything and put it through the filter of our ego, grinding it back down into our own dirt and calling it new, when it is just more of what we’ve already been doing.
You have not seen this before.
You have not read this before.
Faith is about the belief that there can be something completely different.
With regard to the bow, it is about searching for a hanare (release) or form that we have never felt before. Not just pulling the bow trying to imitate what we think we have done before, but utilize technique and images to do something that we’ve never done before.
Our best arrow has yet to be shot!
We must struggle to expand beyond ourselves. It is not easy. It will take everything we have. But we will get what we give in return.
If we give faith and effort for a better world, that is what we get.
If we just give repetitions of what we’ve done in the past, then we’ll just get more of the same.
Onward and upward.
